About Our School

East River School of Ministry’s (SOM) vision is to make passionate believer’s of Jesus Christ into commissioned and committed ministry leaders that will faithfully fulfill the Great Commission.

Students who successfully complete a two-years academic commitment will earn a certificate at graduation in either Missions Pastor, Worship Pastor, or Pastoral Ministries.

Classes are taught in the Hillsboro, Oregon area in the evenings, in a slightly accelerated format. Classes are taught one at a time over six weeks which will prepare students to make a global and local (glocal) impact for the Kingdom of God. [Ephesians 4:11-13].

All 3 tracks focus on knowing God’s word and applying it immediately in ministry settings. While an emphasis is placed on academic learning, more focus is placed on Christian character development and being active in ministry. Entrance exams are not required, but students may be more successful in academics having successfully completed high school and by have a solid working of knowledge of Microsoft applications. The East River School of Ministry is not an accredited college. Coursework and completion certificates may not transfer to accredited academic agencies. Students who are considering transferring to an accredited college should thoroughly investigate their transfer options prior to enrolling in the School of Ministry.
